It’s the 2012 Superbowl tonight and their is a whole lot of money being spent on advertising.
A 30-second commercial slot at this year’s Super Bowl, will cost $3.5 million (£2.2 million). That’s just to air it. God knows how much companies have paid agencies for concept and production. This year we see Pepsi take a pop at Coke, Feris driving a car and Samsung taking a dig at you Apple lovers. Not a bad batch but for me I think the best ever advert at he Super Bowl was way back in 1999.
Whassup was a commercial campaign for Budweiser beer from 1999 to 2002. The advert phrase was used around the world for years and was one of the most memorial, and in my opinion the best use of advertising money during the NFL showcase event.
